ZYMAR™ Sales Training Program and Launch Meeting Presentation

Most primary care physicians and specialists interpret an inflamed conjunctiva with discharge as a sign of infection. Since definitive diagnosis requires a culture, most physicians presumptively prescribe an antibiotic. Antibiotics are also commonly used prior to corneal refractive surgery to prevent infection.

In response to growing concern about bacterial resistance, Allergan introduced ZYMAR™, a fourth–generation flouroquinolone that is highly effective in treating and preventing ocular infection.

To help their sales force understand the issues surrounding ocular infections and refractive surgery, Allergan called on The Wellington Group to develop a comprehensive sales training program and launch meeting presentation.

In conjunction with The Wellington Group, Creative Perspectives developed custom illustrations for a self–study binder and CD–ROM. These training aids covered ocular anatomy and physiology, the imperative to treat and prevent infection, and the results of ZYMAR™ clinical trials. This interactive program proved highly instrumental in helping the Allergan sales team gain the knowledge and understanding they needed to support this new product entry.
