WorldStrides is the largest educational student travel company in the country. The company's programs include history, science, and the performing arts.
WorldStrides asked Creative Perspectives to produce a series of promotional mailers for their Williamsburg program, "Discovering Our Past". The mailers were sent to middle school teachers in Virginia.
One of the highlights of this program is the opportunity to immerse students in colonial life, helping them understand the conditions that led to the establishment of constitutional government and the development of our national character. Students visit a recreated Continental Army encampment in Yorktown, explore a replica of a colonial fort in Jamestown, and interact with costumed historical interpreters at Williamsburg.
In discussions with the teachers, Creative Perspectives discovered that educators were motivated by the desire to give students a truly memorable educational experience. Handwritten notes from students that commented on their newly awakened sense of history were used to capture the effectiveness of WorldStrides' immersive approach.
