RELESTAT®/ELESTAT™/PURIVIST® Global Sales Training Program

The most effective ocular antiallergy agents control a patient's symptoms by intervening at multiple points in the allergic cascade. Until recently, there was no multilevel approach to reduce allergic swelling of the eyelid. In 2003, Allergan was preparing to introduce RELESTAT®, a new ocular allergy drug with multiaction efficacy. Since the product would launch in Europe first, then in the United States, Allergan needed partners who could help in rolling out a multilanguage training program under tight deadlines.

Allergan turned to The Wellington Group who partnered with Creative Perspectives to produce a complete multilingual training and testing program for global use. Given the time limitations, the team opted to bypass traditional publishing and instead to produce a self–directed study program as an interactive multilingual CD–ROM with sections in French, Spanish, Italian, German, and English.

As part of this effort, Creative Perspectives created custom illustrations and animations and programmed the self–study CD–ROM. Subsequent online testing developed by Creative Perspectives (again in multiple languages) confirmed that the study program was both well received and effective. Later, working together, The Wellington Group and Creative Perspectives produced a similar program for ELESTAT™—the US launch of RELESTAT®.
