AIN Technology Kiosk

In 1992, Bell Atlantic rolled out their expanded networks services platform - the Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN). Using the AIN technology, they could offer such services as call forwarding, one number calling and call routing - all services that the consumer could control through their own handset.

As they prepared to introduce their new service to consumer and business audiences alike at the WAVE '92 tradeshow, they turned to Creative Perspectives to produce a demo that would both depict the kinds of services that were offered and marry the features to the technology platform.

In a matter of weeks, Creative Perspectives produced a multimedia information kiosk that featured video, friendly illustrations, animation and a digital music soundtrack. Using a touchscreen kiosk, users could select a service from a menu and run a simulation of an AIN service. Each scenario also simultaneously built a network configuration tree that mirrored the AIN platform - tying front-end services to the backend technology.

The kiosk ran flawlessly at the show, complementing the IBM RISC-6000 that controlled a real-time demonstration of AIN technology. The powerful duo commanded attention at WAVE '92, drawing some of the heaviest traffic at the show to the Bell Atlantic AIN display.
