ALOCRIL, Sales Training Program and Launch Meeting Presentation
Allergic conjunctivitis is a disease that affects millions of people worldwide and accounts for a large number of visits to ophthalmologists and primary care physicians. While most people with allergic conjunctivitis turn to over-the-counter remedies such as antihistamines, treating the fundamental causes of this condition requires a different clinical approach.
A leader in ophthalmics, Allergan developed ALOCRIL® - a novel therapeutic approach that targets the root cause of most allergic symptoms. For the product launch to be successful, Allergan had to ensure that their sales force understood the underlying pathogenesis of allergic conjunctivitis and how ALOCRIL® performed clinically.
Given the complexities of the program, Allergan turned to the trusted resource of The Wellington Group to produce an effective sales training program. Working hand-in-hand with Creative Perspectives, a comprehensive program was developed which served to elucidate what happens on a cellular level in allergic conjunctivitis and how ALOCRIL® acts. The program included a CD-ROM to reinforce key concepts and bring processes to life. A built-in self testing tool called Allergy Eye-Q served to reinforce critical information. Throughout the program, medical illustrations depicted ocular anatomy and supported training materials. The program proved effective and helped support a successful product launch.
